对于演员的挑选，程耳看重的是演员身上要有独特的气质，第二是符合电影拍摄城市的设定。王一博是程耳最初选择，也是最终选择，“不二人选”。

程耳也说当时就是泛泛之谈，“我当时是拜托了黄磊，说能不能帮我联系一下，可以让我去跟王一博聊一聊，黄磊去拜托了何炅，然后我们就见面了。我和他初次见面，都是比较腼腆。”
